The Avila Rosary is inspired by the doves frequently pictured with St. Teresa of Avila, which symbolizes the Holy Spirit. Teresa was known for her spiritual writings that came to be through the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. St. Teresa of Avila became the first female saint to be named “Doctor of the Church”.
